The lowering of the flags ceremony at the Wagah border is a daily military practice that the security forces of India and Pakistan (Pakistan Rangers) have jointly followed since 1959. The drill is characterized by elaborate and rapid dancelike manoeuvres, which have been described as “colourful”. Jalebi, also known as zulbia and zalabia, is a sweet made by deep-frying maida flour batter in pretzel or circular shapes, which are then soaked in sugar syrup.

This kind Jalebi maker invited me to take pictures of his process. Awesome. And the Jalebi was delicious, too!

It is notable for having been almost entirely rebuilt in the 17th century, when the Mughal Empire was at the height of its splendour and opulence.
