THIMPHU, BHUTAN STREETART: SEEKING THE BLUE DRAGON by DALEAST

I went on the hunt on December 8, 2024, and this is a quote from April 2020, when it was first painted:
โ€œThis blue dragon represents everything His Majesty has meant to the nation in this landmark moment in the history of humanity. Representing the healer, the father, the leader, the hope, the glory of our nation the Blue Dragon honors the 5th Druk Gyalpo.โ€
.
โ€œIt is important to tell the story of this moment, because that is what art is. Art tells the story of our times, of our hopes and our aspirations. And art also has to tell the story of our sufferings, sicknesses and deaths. That is what art is and in 10 or 15 years down the line when people look at this wall, it is our aspiration that they will remember that the great fifth lead his people at the front line. He protected his people , he protected his land. We are happy to share it with the rest of Bhutan.โ€
