MONTANITA, ECUADOR: THE TRANQUILITY OF THINGS
“On days when it was too hot, they did not leave their room. The dazzling brilliance from outside plastered bars of light between the slats of the blinds. Not a sound in the village. Down below, on the sidewalk, no one. This spreading silence increased the tranquility of things.” ~ Gustave Flaubert, A Simple Heart

MONTANITA, ECUADOR: VILLAGE LIFE
I am entering village life slowly; taking in a little more each day, but not doing too much all at once. Each day I choose a new small area to explore. I was happy to come across some street art today that was intermingling nicely with the small shops, hostals, and general daily life.

GUAYAQUIL TO MONTANITA, ECUADOR: A HEAD FULL OF DREAMS
In a taxi ride taking over three hours from Guayaquil to Montanita, I gazed out of the windows at this strange land, feeling nothing but awe and gratitude to the universe for this experience.
With my headphones on and Coldplay in my ears, I snapped moments as we whizzed on by.
“I landed in a world I hadn’t seen. When I’m feeling ordinary, when I don’t know what I mean…I think I landed where there are miracles at work. For the thirst and the hunger, come the conference of birds.” ~Coldplay, A Head a Full of Dreams
