I just happened to have walked past two Village Voices on the street on Monday and picked them up. It’s two of the same cover. Here’s the story from highsnobiety.com:
The Village Voice ‘Banksy’ Issue – Banksy x Os Gemeos Cover Art
Local New York news magazine The Village Voice of course had to pick up on the current Banksy street exhibition “Better Out Than In.” Rather than simply reporting about the ongoing art exhibit and letting people know about the best tours to see all artworks, the magazine has produced a special ‘Banksy’ issue with a great cover and an in-depth interview with Banksy. The cover art was done by Banksy and Brazilian artists Os Gemeos. There are two covers and the two artworks seen on the covers will actually be rolled out later this month as part of the exhibition. Of course we do not know when yet. The magazine came out this week and as you can imagine is highly sought-after already on eBay, going for $20 USD and more.

“The overall theme of the mural is a message of international unity. Os Gemeos’ iconic yellow character (sometimes referred to as as ‘the giant’ or ‘gigante’) will be seen adorned with flags representing countries around the globe in varying color patterns. Of the design, Os Gemeos says, “We are using different flags painted with non-traditional colors. This is so cool! I was walking down Stuart Street just about to hit Church Street, when I saw this awesome mural by the Brazilian twin brother art collective, Os Gemeos. It’s on the front of a parking garage. So cool.
