Artist statement: “I have a few rules when I do my @heart1_graff pieces and they are that I’m not allowed to sketch a design or even think about a design before hand. This means that I have to use whatever paints I have at hand at the time and I can’t purchase more if I run out. This also means that i don’t know what I’m painting even after the painting has long started and once its started I’m not allowed to completely erase and start over again. The objective is to make it work within a 5 hours time frame no matter what.
Its a sort of collaboration between myself and life circumstances. It takes a bit of faith but after a while I learned that in the end it all works out.”

.
Location:

Native ~ “Native features a portrait of Frederick Henry aka ‘Prince of Orange’ and a portrait of a man who represents the Lenape people. During the Prince’s reign, the Dutch West India Company established the settlement of New Amsterdam which would become New York after English occupation. In the bottom right of the mural is a breakfast still life by Willem Claeszoon Heda, with a background of flowers. To the right and left are symbols of investment in real estate — including a glass tower that represents the newer construction in Jersey City’s Downtown and an old historic brownstone.” https://www.hobokengirl.com/outdoor-murals-art-hoboken-jersey-city/
