Here are some images of the transformation of this rare red lunar eclipse that I witnessed tonight in Kobe, Japan. It begins as the ‘blood’ begins to emerge from the bottom and slowly covers to the top. After an hour, the ‘blood’ then begins to dissipate, seemingly ‘pushed’ from the left to the right by the usual moon image that we all know. :

Very nice – I am jealous. We had clouds and rain over night and did not get to see this. Thank you for sharing your view.
Thank you! That’s too bad, it was definitely a sight to behold. But, you’ll get another chance in April…. 😉
This is amazing!!
Cheers! Isn’t it glorious?!
Really is-I would love to see it one day!
Wow, incredible photos, just beautiful. 🙂
Thanks, Dom! It truly was an ethereal experience. 🙂
So beautiful! It’s a celebration of moon time. Because of that, I’ve posted one of my many moon poems from a moon cycle I’ve written over the years. It’s titled Labor Day and reflects the coming of autumn. I wonder if you would relate to it. Take care.

Cheers, so beautiful!
If it was not this post, I would missed the opportunity to see the Blood-Lunar Eclipse. Great Job. Thankyou so much 🙂
Thank you! I’m glad you are getting to see it in these photos – it was such an amazing transformation!
