BOGOTÁ, COLOMBIA: CALLE DEL SOL

The Sun Building, BOGOTA

Built in 1917 by an Italian in the Gothic-style, this gorgeous building was a monastery and convent until 1948 when it then became the seat of the SIC, which I think means Superintendent of Industry and Commerce. From 1970 until 1992, the building was unoccupied. In 1992, a real estate firm bought it and converted it into an apartment building, which is what it is today. It is named El Sol, “Sun.” Bogota, Colombia. AUG12 (Instagram, Lo-fi aspect)
