I like the special aesthetics of decaying buildings (I have just written about that on my blog) but here it is also a pity. This was a beautiful piece of architecture and interior design, with typical 20s features and even some hint of Art Noveau. Many buildings from that periode have not survived due to World War II, others have been destroyed in the decades after it. This hotel should have been put onder monument protection (if something like that exists in Japan) when there was still time to rescue it. Now it is probably beyond the point of no return.
