It’s been over two years since I’ve been in New York City, my favorite city in the world. In 2011 I lived in the heart of the East Village. Then, I returned for two months in 2013. Now, as I walk these streets, I see the new overtaking the old (I hightailed it to my fave sushi spot on St. Mark’s Place yesterday, only to find it boarded up and gone), and I see street art and graffiti cleaned up in certain areas, only to find surpluses of it in others. Such is the cycle of city life…
