HIROSHIMA, JAPAN: DAISHOIN TEMPLE, PT. 1

Daishoin is a temple on Mt. Misen, the holy mountain on the island of Itsukushima.. It was founded in 806 by Kukai, a monk. After his death, he came to be referred to as Kobo Daishi. He is considered to be one of the most famous monks in Japan and he founded Shingon Buddhism.
