Yesterday while walking to the Wynwood Arts District, I saw this dog peeking out of the sunroof of a car. I had to take pics. Turns out, the dog, “Winston,” has his own website and Facebook page:

I took a different route home yesterday (Bumby Avenue) and found a few new pieces. The Milk District in Orlando is really doing a good job of merging art and commerce. Rather than going the tyipcal ways of ‘signage,’ many places are choosing to display art on their buildings. The lioness is on the side of a tavern, believe it or not. The animals are naturally on an animal grooming/boarding establishment and the best story is of the final two. I was photographing the images when a man walked out of a barber shop with a a buzz cut and a long beard (totally resembling the murals) holding scissors and a towel, and wanted to show me the texture of the pieces. I was like…”Why this picture?” And he replied, “Because it’s me!” And he smiled as he re-entered his shop. It was Justin Cruz, the owner/barber. Either he had it commissioned by an artist for his shop or he did it himself, I’m not too sure. It happened so fast.
