It’s gotten to the point, and I’m very grateful, that when street art enthusiasts know I’m coming to their city, they often tell me all of the spots to hit, giving me directions and sending me on my way. On Wednesday, staff at a cool little cafe told me about NDSM. I had never heard of it, it’s kind of an island that you have to take a ferry to…full of abandoned warehouses, was a shipbuilding and repair company…the warehouses are full of graffiti…

But, this name. NDSM. What does it stand for? One of the women couldn’t tell me. She’s like, “you know, I used to know it. I don’t really know. We just call it NDSM.” Well, I looked it up. It stands for Nederlandsche Dok en Scheepsbouw Maatschappij. No wonder we have an acronym.
