KYOTO, JAPAN ART (EXHIBITION) PT. 2: PETIT MATADOR by DAAS

Part of DAAS’ evolution as an artist, is his new focus on the eyes. He’s using specific colors to ‘highlight’ his subjects’ eyes. After talking to him, DAAS doesn’t always have hidden meanings in his work, sometimes it’s as simple as just liking the way certain colors go together. So maybe subconsciously he chose ‘red’ for this matador (red flag waving the bull.) Part of the beauty of art, is interpreting it the way you personally see it and feel it. I tend to take this approach often with DAAS pieces. He can say there was nothing deeper intended, but it evokes my imagination tangibly.
