Set into a hilltop in Ashiya looking over the port of Kobe. Of course in 1918, there weren’t so many houses between Yamamura and Osaka Bay. The house was constructed with Oya Stone, not concrete. Oya Stone is created from lava and ash and it is fireproof. Here are various exterior images as well as its current surroundings:

A remarkable building. I hope it is taken better care of than that art-deco hotel you showed in your other posts that had been allowed to decay, probably beyond repair, in such a shameful way.
Do you know anything about who designed this house?
Yes, it’s designed by arguably, the most famous American architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. There’s a quote from him above and I mentioned it in my Part 1 post. He was known for his “spatial composition” and also integrating his designs into nature. A very interesting man.
