VANCOUVER GRAFFITI: KAID ASHTON, PT. 3 ~ THE FINALE

“It may be important to great thinkers to examine the world, to explain and despise it. But I think it is only important to love the world, not to despise it, not for us to hate each other, but to be able to regard the world and ourselves and all beings with love, admiration and respect.”
Hermann Hesse, Siddhartha

  1. “The river laughed. Yes, it was like this … everything returned what wasn’t suffered an solved to it’s end, the same sufferings were suffered over and over again.” (Der Fluss lachte. Ja, es war so, es kam alles wieder, was nicht bis zu Ende gelitten und gelöst ward, es wurden immer wieder dieselben Leiden gelitten) Hermann Hesse, Siddhartha … from the chapter “The Son” – I wonder how dark and yellow the paper of that old paper back became … I loved the word “ward”, which Hesse sometimes used, and I felt it to be like a poetic form of “wurde”.
